Hard to say which part of the trip we enjoyed the most, but Cape Reigna was fantastic as was Tanya, who was our driver/guide for the day. She was exceptional!
I gave a description of what I was interested in seeing and was given a variety of options that might appeal. My favourite choice was the helicopter ride to the Franz Josef glacier.
It was easy to amend any changes with Emily Rose. I definitely benefited from her local knowledge for accommodation, travel options and activities.
Hobbiton was the best. We felt like a part of the movie. Tour was great, the feast, too. Nomad safaris were also very fun. Best hotel, Rocks was awesome, near everything. The Scenic Hotel and Hermitage Hotel were great. Had lots of fun on the luge. The opera house tour was very good. Great job Russell!
Communication was outstanding. Your quick responses to every email and message made the trip better and less stressful.

Everything was organised beautifully, and we truly appreciate your guidance and support throughout the planning and travel stages. In particular, we loved our stay in Dunedin — the accommodation was mind-blowing. Lake Tekapo was absolutely beautiful, Mount Cook was beyond words, and Lake Pukaki was stunning as well. The accommodation at both Lake Tekapo and Queenstown was wonderful. And the Skyline Luge was the funniest and most enjoyable activity for all of us! Quest apartments in Rotorua was super comfy & the location was perfect. The check in staff were lovely, easy walk to everything & quiet.

What an incredible adventure I had in New Zealand! Huge thanks to Thrifty Tours, especially Katie, for organising an unforgettable North Island tour. It was packed so much into a short trip – from exploring Auckland to the stunning Waitomo Caves, Rotorua's Te Puia and Māori Forest village, and relaxing in the Polynesian Spa's unique acidic and alkaline pools (free morning). The Art Deco Trust Vintage Car tour in Napier, an evening in rainy Wellington, and the breathtaking Northern Explorer train ride back to Auckland were the perfect highlights. As a solo traveler, I loved the cozy accommodations and private transfers in each town. I will be planning my next trip – this time to the South Island with Thrifty Tours!

I really enjoyed my trip. The different places that I visited were amazing. I really liked the hotels which I stayed in (maybe a bit too luxurious for my needs, but they were nice). My favorite spots were Mount Cook and Franz Josef. I really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast provided by the Heritage hotel. Everything was well planified and everything went well during my trip. I would like to visit New Zealand again and will check with Thrifty tours again in the future. Thanks!

Although the first rental car wasn't exactly what we expected due to overbooking and a bit of a queue, it turned out to be a small adventure in itself and did not affect our overall experience in any way. Thank you so much to Gina for planning my trip in April 2025. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. The trip fit my budget and dates well and I got to see lots of sights in a small period of time thanks to Gina’s advice. Flexi tours guides were brilliant.
