Day 1: Auckland - Christchurch
Fly to Christchurch where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. The afternoon is free for optional activities. Stay 1 night in Christchurch.
Day 2: Christchurch - Greymouth - Glaciers
Board the TranzAlpine train to traverse the Southern Alps to Greymouth. Coach down the West Coast to the Glaciers. Stay in Fox or Franz Josef Glaciers township for 2 nights.
Day 3: Glaciers
A whole day is available for optional excursions on the Glacier, for bush walks or simply to soak up the beauty of snow-capped mountains contrasting with the deep greens of the native bush.
Day 4: Glaciers - Queenstown
Continue south into dense rain forest broken by rugged coastal vistas. Reach Lake Wanaka in the early afternoon. Continue through the rugged Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown. Stay 2 nights in Queenstown.
Day 5: Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown
An early start around the southern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Lake Te Anau, then into Fiordland National Park. Pass through pristine beech forests and the Homer Tunnel to view the majesty of Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls aboard a cruise on the Sound. Return to Queenstown this evening.
Day 6: Queenstown - Mount Cook - Christchurch - Auckland
Travel through the Kawarau Gorge and over the Lindis Pass to reach Mount Cook around midday. Pass Lake Tekapo, then north to Christchurch. Stay 1 night at a Christchurch Airport hotel.
Day 7: Christchurch - Auckland
Transfer to airport for your flight to Auckland.
