Day 1: Christchurch - Queenstown
Coach South across the Canterbury Plains to Tekapo. Continue across the Mackenzie country, bounded by the Southern Alps. Follow the Clutha River through the rugged Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown. Stay 3 nights in Queenstown
Day 2: Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown
An early start around the southern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Lake Te Anau, then into Fiordland National Park. Pass through pristine beech forests and the Homer Tunnel to view the majesty of Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls aboard a cruise on the Sound. Climb out of Milford Sound to return to Queenstown by evening.
Day 3: At Queenstown
A free day for optional activities such as; jet boating, 4x4 Adventures, ‘Earnslaw’ steamer cruises and much more - add an experience.
Day 4: Queenstown - Rotorua
Today you will be transferred to Queenstown Airport for your flight to Rotorua. On arrival in Rotorua you will be transferred to your accommodation. The remainder of the day is free. Attend a Maori hangi (feast) and concert tonight. Stay 2 nights in Rotorua.
Day 5: At Rotorua
This morning see roaring geysers and boiling mud pools at the thermal area, tame trout at the springs and performing sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. Your afternoon is free - there are many activities to enjoy.
Day 6: Rotorua - Waitomo - Auckland
Travel to Waitomo for a tour of the limestone caves. Cruise below a galaxy of glow-worms. Continue north alongside the Waikato River to Auckland. You arrive late afternoon.
